Xfinity XB7 Close Yet So Far

The Xfinity XB7 is an impressive piece of hardware combining router and modem to make it very compelling to ditch your diy setup.

As you can see in the header image above I was using My own device to power all my devices with internet connectivity it's capable of 1 gigabit of speed so you may be wondering why did I get the XB7? Well there is more to it than just speed alone, although you get 1 gigabit the more devices that it tethered yo the router count on major slowdown unless you are hardwired.

With the XB7 on the other hand it's capable of speeds greater than 1 gigabit 1.2 to be exact but again this is based off of hardwired devices but the difference is I got greater speed on wifi than with my diy router modem setup so you may be wondering why I say "So Close Yet So Far" well it's because even when hardwired you don't get 1 gigabit mabey well over 900 mb it's good but not the speed I opted for I'm paying for the highest speed you can get but getting speed of a lower tier, I could just get the 900 mb plan and pay less.

As of now The XB7 is good but could be better hopefully there are more updates in the future that will allow it to get the advertised speeds, all we can do is wait and see.
